...the issue is on stands now -- grab yourself a copy!
They don't call it Business*WEEK* for nothing :)
Soo excited -- my first International publication!
I got the chance to get up close and personal with Mr. Mark Murphy, CEO and President of the Green Bay Packers (even though I secretly wished it was one of he Rooneys -- my Steelers fans know what I'm talking about, lol!)
The photo shoot was so much fun -- Packers fans are really just like Steelers fans... We all know how to have a good time!
It really has been an amazing month -- with two magazine covers. Thanking God for all his blessings -- and thanking my family and friends for all your support! *xoxo*

So, Like I said before -- fall is in the air, and I was looking for a protective style...
Right now -- I can't dish out $150 for box braids, so I started looking for a DIY on a low budget.
I was doing a little research on what styles other naturals suggest and I noticed a few YouTubers raving about Yarn Braids/Genie Locs.
They reminded me of actual dread locs, which I thought would be fun to try without the commitment ;)
Materials:
Red Hart Acrylic Yarn (I picked some up at Wal-mart)
Combs
Clips for sectioning hair
I used Shea Moisture to moisturize my hair and oil to seal
Scissors
Lighter
Spray bottle
I used MsVcharles's process:
She also has a ton of videos for styling!
The whole process took me about 15 hours -- I braided all day yesterday, and finished up this morning.
Definitely time consuming but well worth it! I plan on keeping them in for about a month... It seems that other naturals had issues when leaving them in longer.
Now the true test will come, when taking these suckers down -- I'm extremely tender headed!
time to give my fingers some rest!
I really like them! What do you think? Has anyone had any experience with Yarn Braids/Genie Locs?
I've been rocking a wash and go all week, and today I wanted to switch it up a bit....
I kept my side part, spritz with good ol' H2O and started twisting. I LOVE how my curls still popped and decided to stop with a side poof... The only products I used was ECO Styler to slick my edges and Shea Moisture Organic Curl Enhancing Smoothie Coconut & Hibiscus (one of my staple products, it really makes my curls pop!).
And voila!
Quick and simple! I received a ton a compliments at work... What do you think?
A horse is the projection of peoples' dreams about themselves - strong, powerful, beautiful - and it has the capability of giving us escape from our mundane existence.

So I was invited last week -- by the most amazing group of photographers to go shoot at a Peruvian horse farm. You KNOW I had to jump at the opportunity -- even though I had to work...
I had a GREAT time -- and I think we captured some AMAZING images! I hope to shoot with them again!
And only the photographer himself knows the effect he wants. He should know by instinct, grounded in experience, what subjects are enhanced by hard or soft, light or dark treatment. ~ Bill Brandt
I was so disappointed that I only had the chance to work with one photographer...
But I feel like it was well worth it -- I met AMAZING models, photographers -- and the TOP MUA in the area... the event was epic!
