...Back to Black: Forever 27*

“We only said goodbye with words. I died a hundred times…”
~Amy Winehouse

British soul singer, Amy Winehouse, who’s most popular song was a vow not to go to rehab, was found dead in her North London home yesterday.
Her death is believed to be from a drug overdose, though a cause of death has not been determined yet.
Police do not suspect foul play.

I can't say that I'm surprised -- but I'm definitely disappointed, sigh...
The people who genuinely cared for the singer had long hoped for a recovery from drink and drugs.
Once asked if she had any unfulfilled ambitions, Winehouse said: “If I died tomorrow, I’d be a happy girl.”

Amy pretty much lead the way for “different” British female artists such as Duffy, Lily Allen, Jessie J. and Adele.
She worked with Mark Ronson on Back to Black and in my opinion the result was pure art.

If officials find drugs are the cause of death, she will join the ominous and tragic club of 27 year old rockers that includes legends such as Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, and Kurt Cobain

Understanding. Empathy. Compassion. Love.
God knows, the world is in short supply of all four.
Amy, I hope your soul finds the peace you never found in life, in death. You will be missed.
